Talk to a human
No ticket numbers, no bots, no queue position. Message us and a person answers — usually the same hour, always the same day.
How Kenya talks, so it is how we answer. Send a screenshot if something looks wrong in the app — it saves both of us ten messages.
Better for anything long, and the right address for privacy requests, data copies and account deletion. Include the phone number on your account so we can find you.
If you are in danger, call 999 or 112 first. Then tell us, so we can act on the account. Do not wait for us to reply before getting yourself somewhere safe.
Questions people actually ask
How do I get paid?
The person who posted the job pays you directly on M-Pesa, to your own number, when the work is done. Husssle is not in the middle of it — there is no wallet to withdraw from, no payout day and no waiting period. You agree the amount before you start, you do the job, they send it.
Agree the price in the app before you travel, and never accept a job where someone wants you to pay something first. If a poster does not pay after the work is done, message us: we can show what was posted and what was agreed, that usually settles it, and we act on the accounts of people who make a habit of it. But the money itself is a debt between you and them — we never held it, so we cannot release or refund it.
Is it free?
Yes. Browsing is free, posting a hustle is free, applying is free, and finishing a job is free. We take no commission and no service fee from either side — the amount agreed is the amount that moves, in one transfer between the two of you.
Nobody at Husssle will ever ask you to pay a registration fee, a deposit, a bond for tools, or money to be shortlisted. Anyone who does is running a scam. Report them and block them.
What if someone doesn’t show up?
Call them first — the numbers are revealed to both of you exactly so this can be sorted out in thirty seconds. Traffic in Nairobi being what it is, most no-shows are actually a late-show.
If you are the poster and they genuinely did not come, you can pick someone else from your applicants, or repost. Leave an honest review — that is the part that protects the next person.
If you are the worker and the poster is not there, or refuses to pay for work you completed, mark what happened, leave an honest review and tell us. A job you have marked finished auto-completes after 48 hours even if the poster never confirms, so a client who goes quiet can never lock you out of taking other work.
A repeated pattern of no-shows on either side gets an account suspended.
How do I report someone?
To report a job: open it and tap Report this job at the bottom of the page. To report a person: open the job they posted and tap Report or block under their name, or — if they applied to your job — open their application and tap Report or block this user. Pick a reason, add what happened, and send it.
On the report screen for a person there is a Also block switch. Blocking hides that person’s posts from your feed, so they stop reaching you. It does not currently hide your posts from them, and it does not stop them applying to a job you put up — so if somebody has made you feel unsafe, report them as well as blocking them, and tell us on WhatsApp if it is urgent. That is what actually gets an account suspended.
We review every report within 24 hours. The person is never told who reported them. Depending on what we find we remove the content, warn, restrict, suspend or permanently remove the account, and where a crime has been committed we report it. For anything urgent — a threat, a scam in progress, someone unsafe in your home — WhatsApp us as well, and we act immediately rather than waiting for the queue.
How do levels work?
Your level decides how many jobs you can hold at once. New is one job at a time, Proven is two, Trusted is three. It is earned from finished jobs and the ratings real clients left you, so it cannot be bought and it cannot be rushed.
Everyone starts at New, and New means exactly that — new, not suspect. Plenty of posters deliberately pick someone starting out.
A level drops only if your average falls below 4, never because of a single bad review. That rule exists on purpose: nobody should be able to say “do extra work or I’ll give you one star” and have it mean anything. If you think your level is wrong, email us and a person will look at it.
You must review your last job before you can apply for a new one — that is what keeps every rating on Husssle current and real.
How do I delete my account?
In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete my account. It is a real deletion — profile, photos, job history and the reviews you wrote — not a deactivation, and it cannot be undone.
If you no longer have the app, email support@husssle.app with the subject line Delete my account. The full detail, including exactly what is erased and what survives as anonymised numbers, is on the account deletion page. Everything is done within 30 days.
If you are only taking a break, use Sign out instead — your rating and level stay safe.
Which areas does Husssle cover?
Kilimani, Kileleshwa and Lavington for now. We open one estate at a time, on purpose: a feed with no jobs in it is worse than no app at all. WhatsApp us the estate you are in and we will tell you when it opens.
Who can see my phone number?
Nobody, until you and one other person have agreed to work together. When a poster picks a worker, the two of them can see each other’s numbers so they can call or use WhatsApp — applicants who were not picked never see it, and it is never shown publicly or on this website. There is no chat inside Husssle, so we do not hold your conversations either. See the Privacy Policy.
I never got my sign-in code
Wait a full minute — Kenyan SMS is usually instant but can lag. Then check that the number you typed includes the right country code, that you have signal, and that your inbox is not full. Tap Resend and, if a second code does not arrive, WhatsApp us the number and we will look at what happened on our side.
The work wasn’t done properly. What now?
Talk to the person first, on the phone, while they are still there if possible — most of it is a misunderstanding about scope and gets fixed on the spot. If it cannot be resolved, pay for what was genuinely done, leave an honest, specific review, and tell us. We cannot order a refund or a redo, because we are not a party to your agreement and we never held the money. What we can do is look at the pattern: someone whose work is repeatedly bad does not last long here.
